Quality of Kyocera Solar Modules

1. First Manufacturer to Pass TUV Rheinland's Rigorous Testing

Kyocera's multicrystalline silicon solar modules were the first in the world to pass all "Long-term Sequential Tests"* performed by TUV Rheinland Japan Ltd. (based in Germany) - a highly-respected third-party institute that evaluates the quality and reliability of solar modules.

* The Long-term Sequential Test is even more stringent than conventional testing which follows the international standards set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This test continuously examines the overall quality and performance of a solar module for roughly one year. Certified in January 2011.

2. Ranked “Performance Leader” by DNV-GL

Kyocera has been recognized as a "top performer" across all test categories for its solar modules by DNV GL (formerly PV Evolution Labs), an international provider of independent expert advisory and certification services, in its 2016 PV Module Reliability Scorecard released March 2016 in collaboration with GTM Research.

3. PID Resistance Testing Confirms Zero Degradation

The independent Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics CSP (Germany) tested Kyocera modules in a potential induced degradation (PID) test* and the result demonstrated that Kyocera's modules showed zero degradation.

Furthermore, our modules also passed the more stringent testing** of PV Evolution Labs (currently DNV-GL), a third party solar testing institute based in the U.S.

* The test subjects solar modules to a high voltage stress test (50 deg. C, 50% relative humidity, 1000V, 48 hours) and compares power output from beginning to end.
** The test subjects solar modules to a high voltage stress test (85 deg. C, 85% relative humidity, 1000V, 600 hours) and compares power output from beginning to end.
